OU, AU, or OC? OU
If canon, canon point: End of Season 3, right when he's departing Earth with his brothers.
PB: N/A
Superhero Name: Sawtooth. Because he's super creative.
Setting Background: N/A
History: Candygram!
Personality: Sawtooth is a work in progress. Much of his personality was shaped by being kidnapped and experimented on, escaping with his brothers, and keeping a low profile so as to avoid detection and capture. To that end, he's on the quieter side, doesn't stand his ground as much as he probably should, and does what he can to avoid making people angry or avoid their attention at all: chooses his words carefully, stays out of sight unless he's called for, doesn't argue or talk back very often if at all, etc.
Underneath the survival tactics, he has one hell of a spark. He cares about people - his brothers first and foremost, but innocents as well, to the point where he'll throw a (Decepticon-run) mission to prevent innocent people from getting hurt. He also doesn't like to sit back when people are fighting to defend him; he'd rather join in and do everything he can to help. He understands that he and his brothers need to trust other bots, and he's willing to give it a try; he's the first of his brothers to trust someone outside their group, and as a result is the first one to fully unlock his power boost - a trust-based connection - with another bot.
He cares, he's generally friendly when there's not a direct Starscream-shaped threat hanging over his head, he will hold his ground if he believes he's doing the right thing, and he has a sense of humor. Hopefully, in a situation that's more social and less survival-based, he'll be able to bring those traits to the forefront.
Canon Powers: Sawtooth is a Weaponizer minicon. As such, his alternate form is a trident. While he's in his trident form, if someone is touching/wielding him, he can grant them a power boost. If they're holding him involuntarily, he can choose to control their motions (they'll glow blue and lose control of their bodies, though they can still talk on their own); if he and his partner trust each other, he doesn't control them but instead gives them a massive power boost (speed, strength, agility, etc.).
He also evidently has a psychic connection to his brothers. This is brought up literally once for the sake of plot convenience.
Game powers: Going for a two-power set here:
Minicon Physiology: As a Cybertronian, Sawtooth is made of metal and is therefore hardier than your average person. He's a bit more resistant to extreme temperatures (but not much) and doesn't need to breathe, which means he can survive in the vacuum of space/underwater/etc. He's also able to transform from minicon form (five foot tall land shark) to weapon form (trident) and back again.
Partner Adaptation/Control: While in his trident form, if Sawtooth touches/is held by someone, he can give them a power boost. This works in two different ways:
- If the person in question is unconscious or unwilling, Sawtooth offers a small power boost and can choose to completely override the person's motor functions. It's not subtle - the person will glow blue and can still speak their mind, as Sawtooth is controlling their body, not their will - but it can't be broken as long as Sawtooth has physical contact with the person.
- If the person in question is willing and they and Sawtooth are both in agreement, Sawtooth offers a massive power boost. This includes strength, speed, stamina, and any powers his partner might have. The power boost works with his partner's physiology and power set; they won't gain any powers they don't already have, and while their physical capabilities will be boosted to or near the peak of their species, they won't be pushed beyond that limit (for example, their speed will be boosted, but they won't suddenly gain superspeed). There isn't a specific time limit on the boost; it lasts until he or his partner give out (exhaustion, unconsciousness, etc) or until physical contact is broken.
Additionally, Sawtooth's trident form will adjust in size to better work with his intended target (as he's normally 15-20 feet long in trident form, and most humanoids can't really wield a weapon that big).
Abilities: None, sadly. He's okay at hand-to-hand combat, but you don't come by a lot of specialized skills when a good chunk of your life is spent running and hiding.
Setting: The setting is going to be a huge change for Sawtooth. On one hand, he no longer has the threat of Starscream hanging over his head; on the other hand, for the first time ever, he's completely cut off from his brothers. It's going to be a big adjustment, to put it lightly, and he'll be caught between desperately wanting to socialize and not wanting to be tricked or taken advantage of by any Decepticons (or people who think or act like Decepticons). It won't take him long to join the Legion, though - it's an organization that's protecting those who can't protect themselves and fighting to save all of existence. He's in.
As time goes on, I'd like for him to come out of his shell and adjust to having friends and not constantly being hunted - more of his personality and less sheer survival tactics. How this happens will absolutely be shaped by who he makes friends with in game, and it should be all sorts of interesting.

Sawtooth isn't sure why he's here.
Well, that's not entirely accurate. He's here because he was told to come; he's here because it's a show of good faith for new Legionnaires to meet UP dignitaries and mingle with other people; he's here because it's his duty as a brand new Legionnaire.
That doesn't stop him from wondering every few minutes why he'd actually come, why he hadn't said no or that he wasn't functioning properly or something, why he hadn't even tried to get out of it. It's not like he was going to be knocked around for speaking his mind.
Right?
So he'd polished his new Legion emblem until it gleamed and come to the party anyway, gotten a glass of something shiny and blue and probably not fit for his consumption just so he could have something to hold in his hands, and tried to mingle.
Tried to.
It turns out he doesn't really know how to talk to people, and he's still smaller than a good amount of them, even if the difference is only two feet instead of two dozen. Still, it's left him standing on the edges of conversations, offering a toothy-by-default smile when people acknowledge him instead of looking over his head, and wishing his brothers were here. Aerobolt would be suspicious of everyone and Tricerashot would be a lousy diplomat, true, but Aerobolt was steady and Tricerashot could be funny when he tried, and they'd at least be someone to talk to.
Or someone could start talking about him.
He startles out of his wistfulness to hear the Legion mentioned, and new recruits, and something about "how are they going to navigate a crisis if they can't even navigate a party?"
Nobody else here seems to be having the problems he's having. She has to be talking about him.
It's- it's nothing. He should stay quiet. He doesn't want to cause a scene. He can't bring trouble on his head, or on the Legion-
But she's insulting the Legion, isn't she? From what he understands, the Legion is risking spark and servo to fight against oblivion itself, and this person is insulting that, and- and- and he can't let that stand.
He snaps his head up, locking optics with her. "Well," he starts, ignoring the tremor in the word and forcing his voice steady as he speaks, "if you think I don't know what I'm doing, why don't you join the Legion and show me how it's done?"
There's a beat of silence.
It lasts an eternity.
He's choking back an apology when another woman in the conversation starts laughing, grinning at the woman who'd insulted him. "I think he's got the right idea, Arella. Why don't you show us what you know about being a Legionnaire?"
The Coluan woman gives a disgusted harumph and storms off. The other woman gives him a conspiratorial smile and a wink before turning to follow her. Sawtooth just blinks and processes the events of the past thirty seconds.
Oh.
Maybe he doesn't need Tricerashot here after all.

[That makes all the difference, doesn't it. Nothing like the end of all existence to make your personal concerns seem small.]
I suppose nowhere is really safe, is it. [A pause.] So...that's what I need to do while I'm here. I'm part of the Legion now, and I'm going to do everything I can to help, to stop Chronoblivion before it eats everything. I don't know how much I can do, but I'm going to do it.
And then I can return, and we can find someplace safe for us.
[He pauses again. He's never been separated from his brothers for so long, and it's weighing on him more than he would like.]
I wish my brothers were here. But...they're not. So I'll just...have to do this without them. With my new team. I can do that.
[It almost sounds like confidence. He can manage this. He doesn't really have a choice otherwise.]
